Job Description

Step into a vital role supporting students with significant needs as an onsite special education teacher in a specialized Setting 4 environment. This contract opportunity is perfect for educators who are committed, resilient, and compassionate in their approach to working with students experiencing the highest behavioral and developmental challenges.

Youll be based at a dedicated learning center focused exclusively on providing intensive support to students with severe disabilities. The assignment runs from February 9, 2026, through June 5, 2026, working 37.5 hours each week (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break) in a supportive, collaborative school community.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Minnesota special education teaching license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 requiredmust be submitted with your application)
  • Demonstrated experience or comfort with students requiring the highest levels of behavioral and developmental support
  • Strong understanding of specialized instructional strategies and behavioral intervention plans
  • Team-oriented approach and strong communication skills
  • Commitment to safety, dignity, and supporting student independence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction to students enrolled in Setting 4 programs
  • Implement and monitor IEPs, collaborate with educational teams, and support behavioral management strategies
  • Maintain detailed records and regularly update progress toward student goals
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
  • Communicate with related service providers, families, and administrators to best support each student
