This direct hire role focuses on providing individualized academic and social skills instruction to exceptional young learners, guided by their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). Your main responsibilities will include:
- Delivering effective instruction tailored to each students unique abilities, interests, cultural background, and learning styles
- Designing and implementing lesson plans in alignment with IEP goals
- Actively fostering the social and developmental skills vital for early learners
- Collaborating with staff, families, and specialists to ensure coordinated support for students
- Serving as backup to the Director in their absence, helping support smooth program operations
Desired qualifications and credentials:
- Possess, or be eligible for, a Professional Educators Certificate in Primary/Elementary Education or ESE
- Bachelors degree in education, early childhood education, special education, or a related discipline
- Required: Reading Endorsement and ESOL; otherwise, a willingness to actively pursue these endorsements
- Completion of Department of Children & Family Child Care Training is a must
- Clear, effective communication skills in both spoken and written English; proficiency in Spanish is a valued asset
- Confident using computers, including Microsoft Office and online research tools
