Job Description
Make an impact in young learners lives by supporting and teaching children in a Pre K special education setting for the full school year. In this role, youll deliver instruction tailored to exceptional students and their unique needs, fostering both academic progress and social skill development according to each Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).
Essential functions and responsibilities include:
- Design and facilitate lessons that address each childs special needs, learning style, and cultural background
- Teach and reinforce social and academic skills with patience and empathy
- Adapt instructional materials and approaches guided by IEPs and student goals
- Collect and maintain data on student progress to inform instructional decisions
- Serve as a backup to the Director when necessary, ensuring program continuity
- Communicate clearly with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
To thrive in this position, candidates should have:
- A Bachelors degree in education, early childhood, special education, or a closely related field
- Eligibility for a Professional Educators Certificate in Primary/Elementary and ESE
- Completion of Department of Children & Family Child Care Training
- Reading Endorsement and ESOL, or willingness to attain these endorsements upon hire
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are a plus
- Proficiency with computers and educational technology tools, including Microsoft Office
