Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials
- Experience with high school-aged students preferred
- Background in supporting students with severe cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to cultivating a nurturing, adaptive classroom
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and adapt lesson plans that align with each students unique learning needs and abilities
- Regularly assess progress, modifying strategies when needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Foster a classroom culture grounded in respect, encouragement, and academic growth
- Actively participate in IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation
