Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential
- Demonstrated experience working with students with severe cognitive impairments preferred
- Familiarity with self-contained classroom environments
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for fostering growth and independence in students with unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and challenges
- Provide direct instruction and adapt curriculum to accommodate varying learning abilities
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Monitor individual progress and adjust instructional strategies as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all educational regulations and requirements
