Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students in a self-contained classroom setting as a special education professional. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity near Holly, MI offers the chance to create meaningful growth moments for students with ASD, employing evidence-based practices and fostering an environment tailored to individual needs.
In this position, youll:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet each childs unique learning goals
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction, utilizing data-driven methods and research-supported strategies for students with ASD
- Establish a structured and supportive setting that enhances communication, manages sensory needs, and encourages positive behaviors
- Utilize data collection and progress monitoring to refine instruction and interventions, ensuring measurable student progress
- Work collaboratively with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families to maximize student success
- Implement and track behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and apply positive behavioral supports within the classroom
- Guide students in acquiring effective communication, social, and essential life skills
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and district special education requirements
Desired background for this role includes:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
- Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan
- Strong grasp of MTSS, trauma-informed approaches, and social-emotional learning principles
- Excellent skills in communication, team collaboration, and problem-solving
- Authorization to work in the US
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening
