Job Description
This full-time, onsite special education teaching position is available at an elementary school in Holly, MI. The role focuses on a self-contained classroom setting, providing specialized instruction for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs.
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based practices for students with ASD.
- Create a structured classroom environment that supports communication, behavior, and sensory requirements.
- Utilize data collection and progress monitoring to guide instruction and interventions.
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, general education teachers, therapists, and families.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports.
- Support students in developing communication, social, and life skills.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Approval as a School Social Worker in Michigan.
- Strong understanding of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the US.
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
