A full-time opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with expertise in autism support to join a dedicated school community near Hockessin, DE. This assignment runs from early February through mid-June 2026, offering the chance to make a lasting impact while working standard daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching License (must include PDF attachment of license and resume for consideration)
- Experience working in special education, particularly with elementary-aged students and autism spectrum support, highly valued
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment and modify instruction for individual student needs
- Knowledge of best practices in behavioral management, progress monitoring, and IEP implementation
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for partnering with staff and families
- Candidates must agree to and cover the cost of a required $85 CBC fingerprint background check
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct academic and behavioral instruction to elementary students with autism in both individual and small group settings
- Develop, track, and implement IEP goals and objectives, collaborating with IEP team members
- Maintain a structured, supportive classroom to encourage student growth, independence, and positive peer interactions
- Adapt lessons and activities based on each students needs and strengths
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating updates with families and multidisciplinary staff
