Middle School Exceptional Children Teacher | Self-Contained Classroom

Location: Henderson, NC 
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (37.5 Hours Weekly)
Work Hours: 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM
Assignment Dates: ASAP - June 4, 2027
Setting: Middle School, Self-Contained Classroom (Non-Severe)

We are seeking a passionate Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support within a middle school self-contained classroom setting. Key Responsibilities

Deliver individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals and academic needs.
Create engaging lesson plans that support student achievement and skill development.
Implement accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based instructional strategies.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEPs and educational goals.
Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
Collaborate with special education staff, administrators, service providers, and families to support student success.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
Utilize classroom management techniques that promote engagement and positive student behavior.
Support students in developing academic, social, and functional skills.

Qualifications

Active North Carolina Special Education/Exceptional Children teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting preferred.
Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and educational teams.
