Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher at a supportive school community near Henderson, NC. This full-time role runs from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 37.5 hours weekly. Youll work closely with a small group of students with mild to moderate exceptional needs in self-contained classroom settingsproviding impactful instruction and meaningful support.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain prior to the contract start date)
• Previous experience working in a self-contained special education classroom, preferably at the middle school level
• Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance with federal/state special education requirements
• Skilled in differentiating instruction for a range of student abilities and needs
• Ability to foster a positive, respectful learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and support professionals

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct classroom instruction to a caseload of approximately 12 students with mild to moderate exceptional needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with legal guidelines and student needs
• Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and other staff in EC (Exceptional Children) and self-contained classrooms
• Maintain accurate student records and document progress toward IEP goals
• Engage with families to build supportive partnerships and promote student success
• Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
