Job Description

Step into a dynamic role making a real impact as a certified Special Education Teacher within a supportive school environment near Harvey, Louisiana. This full-time contract position runs from ASAP through May 27, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligning with the school calendar.

You will serve as an itinerant educator, traveling between multiple campuses throughout the academic year. In this essential role, you will collaborate with non-certified special education teachers, offering vital expertise and mentorship. Your days will be varied and meaningful, focusing on empowering colleagues in areas such as IEP development, progress monitoring, data collection, and instructional strategies.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education Certification with Special Education endorsement (SPED).
  • Experience working across diverse age groups in special education settings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in guiding and coaching fellow educators.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive when supporting multiple campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support and best practices to non-certified special education teachers.

  • Assist in data collection and effective instructional strategy implementation.
  • Travel to assigned schools regularly to ensure continuous support.
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.
