Key Qualifications:

• Must hold an active Louisiana DOE Certificate with Special Education (SPED) endorsement
• Candidates with Temporary Authority to Teach or Teaching Authorization will not be considered; a valid teaching certificate is required
• Passion for supporting, teaching, and fostering growth in students with special needs
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Willingness to complete district-specific drug screening and fingerprint background check
• Commitment to engaging and innovative educational approaches

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with a range of abilities and learning styles
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet IEP goals and state standards
• Partner with general education teachers, therapists, and parents to best support student development
• Collect and document ongoing student progress and participate in IEP meetings
• Uphold compliance with all federal and state education regulations and district policies
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
