This full-time, contract assignment is perfect for Special Education Teachers holding a current Connecticut SPED license, starting September 1st with the possibility to extend beyond October 30th. Desired Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license (CT SPED)
- Previous experience supporting students with social-emotional and/or behavioral needs is highly valued
- Strong classroom management skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability within dynamic situations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate lessons and classroom activities that promote academic and social development for students in grades 3-5
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students unique behavioral and learning needs
- Design and implement targeted interventions to foster social-emotional growth
- Track progress and maintain thorough documentation for students IEP goals
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and fellow staff to ensure student success
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
