Job Description

This full-time, contract assignment is perfect for Special Education Teachers holding a current Connecticut SPED license, starting September 1st with the possibility to extend beyond October 30th. Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license (CT SPED)
  • Previous experience supporting students with social-emotional and/or behavioral needs is highly valued
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
  • Compassion, patience, and adaptability within dynamic situations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate lessons and classroom activities that promote academic and social development for students in grades 3-5
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students unique behavioral and learning needs
  • Design and implement targeted interventions to foster social-emotional growth
  • Track progress and maintain thorough documentation for students IEP goals
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and fellow staff to ensure student success
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture
