Job Description
A middle school Special Education Teacher position is currently available in Hartford, CT, for the contract school year (CSY). This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive and effective educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver special education services to 8th-grade students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with educational policies
- Provide case management for assigned students, coordinating related services and resources
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education
- Experience working with middle school students, preferably in grade 8 case management
- Strong understanding of special education laws and instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Location: Hartford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:50 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
Duration: Contract, School Year
