Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with elementary caseloads preferred
- Expertise in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to meet IEP goals
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and needs
- Differentiate instruction and utilize specialized teaching methods to foster student success
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and support professionals to ensure comprehensive student support
- Monitor and track student progress, maintaining thorough and accurate documentation
- Foster a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom atmosphere conducive to learning for all students
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training
