Make a real difference as a dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting a 2nd-grade student in an onsite, contract role starting as soon as possible and extending through August. This opportunity allows you to provide individualized attention while working within a supportive school community located near Hamburg, NY.
As a valued professional, youll play a pivotal role in fostering academic, social, and emotional growth for your student, collaborating closely with educational teams and families to ensure seamless support.
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education (required)
- Valid New York State Special Education teaching certification
- Special Education certification for 2nd grade, or an all-grades SPED certificate
- Experience working with elementary-age students (preferred)
- Ability to meet any district or state-specific requirements
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, 1:1 special education instruction and support to a 2nd-grade student
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs and IEP goals
- Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families
- Document progress, develop instructional strategies, and maintain compliance with district/state guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and collaboration as needed
Position at a Glance:
- Onsite role, Monday to Friday
- Flexible scheduling: 3 hours per day or full 7.5 hour days
- Work within a single school for consistency and teamwork
