Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students with special needs as a Special Education Teacher in a close-knit educational environment. This contract, full-time assignment runs for 12 weeks and offers you the chance to work closely with a self-contained classroom of students with autism, ranging from 8 to 15 students. Youll be part of a collaborative school team dedicated to fostering growth and confidence for each child.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois special education teaching certification required
  • Previous classroom teaching and school experience preferred
  • Experience with self-contained classrooms or supporting students with autism is a plus
  • Comfortable working onsite, providing direct and consistent support
  • Strong communication, organization, and team collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to individual learning needs within your self-contained classroom
  • Foster a supportive and structured environment that promotes student growth
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Track progress and adapt instructional plans as needed to meet evolving student goals
  • Partner with fellow educators and support staff to ensure the best outcomes
  • Communicate regularly with families and care teams

This is a contract position beginning as soon as possible, operating 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:20 AM to 3:10 PM. Youll have the satisfaction of making a real difference in students lives while being immersed in a welcoming school setting.
