Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field (state certification required)
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and administrators
- Ability to manage classroom behaviors and build positive student relationships
- Previous experience in a school-based special education setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deliver, and adapt lesson plans to meet the unique needs and learning goals outlined in each students IEP
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, adjusting instruction as needed
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a coordinated learning approach
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements, concerns, and strategies for at-home support
- Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment where all students can thrive
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
