A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a dedicated special education teacher to support elementary students in a vibrant school environment near Groton, CT. In this role, you'll collaborate with fellow educators and provide individualized instruction that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. This position is full-time, offering 37.5 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Connecticut special education teacher license with appropriate grade-level endorsements
- Previous experience working with elementary students in a special education setting is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Dedication to fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students in accordance with IEPs
- Work closely with general education teachers, support personnel, and families to ensure student success
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported
- Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional techniques appropriately
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in required meetings and professional development
