A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher in the Gretna, LA area for the 2026-2027 school year. Schools are seeking passionate, certified professionals who have experience or enthusiasm for supporting students with diverse learning needs. This position begins August 3, 2026, and runs through May 27, 2027, offering a stable, full-time schedule of 35 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana DOE certification with Special Education endorsement is required
- Candidates must be fully certifiedno TA or TAT considered
- Must pass district-specific drug screening and fingerprinting in addition to standard credentialing
- Educators currently licensed in Louisiana are strongly preferred
- Experience within schools as a Special Education Teacher
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with special needs in accordance with IEPs and district policies
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Adapt curriculum and use differentiated instructional strategies to promote student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Communicate effectively with families, advocating for student growth and needs
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and activities as required by the district
- Caseloads and assignments across specific campuses and age groups will be determined upon placement
