This opportunity is for a full-time Special Education Teacher position serving K-12 students within a school setting located in Gretna, LA. The contract runs through the current school year, ending in late May 2026. The schedule aligns with the standard school calendar, with 35 hours per week7 hours each day, Monday through Fridaywith a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Responsibilities and duties include:

• Planning and delivering specialized instruction tailored to meet the individual needs of students with diverse learning challenges
• Collaborating with school staff, families, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitoring students progress and adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
• Maintaining accurate documentation on student performance and compliance with district and state guidelines
• Ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports social and academic growth

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Active Louisiana Department of Education Special Education certification is required
• Prior experience teaching K-12 students with special educational needs preferred
• Ability to secure or have completed district-mandated drug screening and fingerprinting processes
