Heres an exciting opportunity for a passionate Special Education teacher to make a difference with students in grades 3-5 as a Resource Teacher. This contracted position offers a rewarding chance to impact learners in a supportive educational setting for the full school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience working as a Special Education Resource teacher is highly valued
- Cognitive Impairments Certification is highly preferred
- Understanding of individualized education plans (IEP) and progress reporting
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Adaptability to meet students diverse needs and instructional styles
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in grades 3-5, supporting individual learning goals
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to students with cognitive impairments and other learning differences
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure continuity of services
- Monitor student progress, document achievement, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a nurturing and respectful classroom environment that encourages student growth
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and interventions to address different learning needs
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district guidelines
