Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working as a Special Education Resource teacher is highly valued
• Cognitive Impairments Certification is highly preferred
• Understanding of individualized education plans (IEP) and progress reporting
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Ability to cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Adaptability to meet students diverse needs and instructional styles

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students in grades 3-5, supporting individual learning goals
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to students with cognitive impairments and other learning differences
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure continuity of services
• Monitor student progress, document achievement, and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a nurturing and respectful classroom environment that encourages student growth
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and interventions to address different learning needs
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district guidelines
