Job Description
Make a difference every day as a Special Education Teacher supporting students from early childhood through high school. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of learnersincluding Kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school studentsin a welcoming and collaborative school environment near Grass Valley, CA. As a valued educator, you will use your expertise to help students develop vital academic and life skills, with a particular emphasis on individualized math instruction and adaptive teaching methods.
What you'll bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Prior experience teaching students in K-12 settings (early childhood through high school)
- Skill in differentiating instruction, particularly across Math and other core subjects
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and documentation
- Strong ability to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and adaptability in managing a range of grade levels and learning needs
- High level of cultural competency and a growth-oriented mindset
Your responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging, individualized lessons aligned with students IEP goals
- Use varied instructional strategies to meet the unique learning needs of each child
- Support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development in both pull-out and push-in settings
- Regularly assess student progress and adapt instructional plans accordingly
- Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to ensure optimal learning
- Communicate regularly with families about student progress and ways to support learning at home
- Maintain detailed and compliant records per district and state guidelines
