Job Description
A part-time teaching opportunity is available in the Grand Rapids, MN area, serving a homebound first-grade student with special education needs. This position is ideal for educators certified in both Special Education and General Education, preferably at the elementary level.
Location:
- Grand Rapids, MN (nearby communities include Ball Club and Suomi)
Position Details:
- Contract role running ASAP through June 2022 (subject to student needs)
- Approximately 10 hours per week (1 hour daily for Special Education and 1 hour for General Education instruction)
- Flexible scheduling, with options for after-school hours
- Instruction will primarily be on-site, with the student attending school under specific health precautions
Student Profile:
- Homebound due to COVID-19 related health concerns; unable to be vaccinated and attending school remotely by parental choice
- Needs support for cognitive impairments and Other Health Disabilities (OHD)
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license
- Certification in Special Education (any area)
- Certification in General Education at the elementary level
- Experience working with students with cognitive impairments and OHD preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to a first-grade student needing specialized support
- Collaborate with school district staff to accommodate the students unique learning requirements
- Maintain clear communication with the students family and school team
- Adapt teaching methods to meet evolving needs and health safety protocols
