Job Description

Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting a homebound 1st grade student near Grand Rapids, MN. This unique opportunity combines both Special Education and General Education instruction, with the school preferring candidates certified in both areas, though individual certifications will be considered. As a teacher in this position, youll play a pivotal role in a students academic growth, delivering tailored support due to their OHD disability and cognitive impairment.

Youll enjoy a flexible part-time scheduleapproximately 10 hours per week, potentially including after-school instruction, depending on both your availability and student needs. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license (required)
  • Special Education certification (any area)
  • General Education elementary certification
  • Experience or interest in supporting students with cognitive disabilities or homebound instruction preferred
  • Ability to provide both individualized and general education lessons

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one hour each of Special Education and/or General Education instruction per day to a homebound 1st grader
  • Customize and adapt learning materials to address lower cognitive skills and varied instructional needs
  • Collaborate closely with school teams, parents, and special education staff to track progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all district and state special education regulations
