Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education certification for the state of Michigan
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree a plus)
- Previous experience working with K-12 students with diverse disabilities preferred
- Strong collaboration skills with teachers, support staff, and families
- Knowledge of IEP processes and compliance regulations
- Excellent communication and classroom management abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and deliver engaging lesson plans based on students' IEPs
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining timely and accurate records
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and counselors to ensure full inclusion and support
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student growth and strategies for success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute knowledgeable input for students educational planning
- Foster a supportive, positive classroom climate that encourages student development
