Qualifications & Experience:

  • Possession of a valid and active Special Education teaching license issued by the state of Michigan
  • Experience working within elementary, middle, or high school environments
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to supporting individual learning goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans based on students IEPs
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and paraprofessionals
  • Encourage student growth in academic, social, and emotional domains
  • Create a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere tailored to each learners needs
  • Regularly assess student progress and modify strategies as necessary
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and ongoing communication with families
