Seeking a talented Special Education Teacher to support a district near Grand Rapids, MI on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for educators passionate about making a positive impact with early learners. The assignment runs from May 18th through June, with a return from August through October, working weekday shifts from 8 am to 4 pm.

In this vital role, youll work with early childhood and kindergarten students, helping shape their academic and developmental success. Youll play a key part in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) management, working alongside staff and families to cultivate a supportive environment for every student.

Qualifications:

• Certification to teach in Michigan with an endorsement in Cognitive Impairments (CI)
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher preferred; Early Childhood/Kinder caseloads highly valued
• In-depth understanding of special education laws, compliance, and best practices
• Skilled at developing, updating, and implementing IEPs
• Ability to attend and contribute to meetings
• Strong case management and organization abilities
• Effective communicator and collaborator with colleagues and families

Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in a classroom setting for students with cognitive impairments
• Manage a caseload of Early Childhood through Kindergarten students
• Update and initiate new IEPs as needed, ensuring compliance and individualized support
• Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Serve as primary case manager for assigned students
• Foster an inclusive and encouraging classroom environment
