A Special Education Teacher position is available in Grand Rapids, MI, focused on supporting students with cognitive impairments. This contract role offers the opportunity to work with early childhood through kindergarten caseloads during two distinct periods: May 18th through June and August through October, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction and support for students with cognitive impairments in early childhood and kindergarten settings.
- Manage, update, and initial Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed.
- Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Oversee case management responsibilities to ensure compliance and student progress.
- Serve as the lead teacher, driving individualized learning plans and classroom management.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid certification in Special Education with a focus on Cognitive Impairments.
- Experience working with early childhood and kindergarten-aged children.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, including teaching, case management, and collaboration.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
