Multiple contract openings are available for skilled Special Education Teachers to work onsite across elementary and high school resource rooms, providing vital instructional support in a dynamic educational setting. Roles span from August 31, 2026 through June 10, 2027, with each position offering a 37.5-hour workweekperfect for dedicated educators ready to empower students every day.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Education and a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (per Michigan Department of Education requirements), OR
- Bachelors degree and current enrollment in an approved teacher certification program recognized by the MDE
- Experience in classroom settings within school districts is preferred
- Endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM) and/or Cognitive Impairment (SA) are highly valued
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing direct and indirect support to students with disabilities in positive, inclusive settings
- Using specialized instructional techniques, such as multisensory teaching and phonics, tailored to individual student abilities
- Implementing IEP goals, modifying curriculum, and utilizing assistive technologies to address diverse learning profiles
- Facilitating academic and social skills development with evidence-based, positive behavior support strategies
- Planning and leading lessons that combine direct instruction, guided practice, and independent work
- Collaborating regularly with general educators, related service professionals, families, and administration to drive student growth and maintain compliance
