Job Description

In this contract role, you'll work onsite in a supportive, team-oriented environment, assisting a single student (8 or 9 years old) with cognitive and behavioral needs. Collaborate with a full team of professionals to provide individualized behavioral and mental health support, ensuring the student receives the guidance and encouragement necessary for success.

Ideal candidates will have experience working with students facing cognitive or autism spectrum challenges and bring a compassionate, adaptive approach to teaching. The role is based at an educational technology center, providing the resources and collaborative spirit essential for innovative special education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification in Cognitive Impairment (CI)required
  • Strong background or comfort working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) profiles
  • Experience in behavior management and mental health support
  • Passion for individualized instruction with creative problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one support and instruction to an elementary-aged student
  • Implement behavior management strategies tailored to student needs
  • Contribute to developing and adjusting individualized learning plans
  • Maintain consistent communication with educational team members
  • Monitor, report, and address behavioral and academic progress

This role offers a highly structured schedule, running from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, and provides the chance to truly impact a students daily life over the course of several years.
