Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher preferred
• Strong understanding of individual education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with parents, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
• Adaptability and compassion for students with varied learning needs
• Meet any district or state-specific certification or experience requirements
• Onsite availability for the duration of the contract

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students with special needs, in alignment with state and district standards
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in cooperation with other educators and specialists
• Assess student progress, communicate regularly with parents or guardians, and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
• Foster a supportive, inclusive, and well-organized classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Participate in professional development sessions and school meetings
• Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements
