Looking for dedicated Special Education Teachers to make a difference in an urban district environment. Multiple contract openings are available for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, supporting a diverse student population in self-contained and resource classroom settings. Assignments will take place in schools near the Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas. Enjoy a collaborative workspace with strong support systems, including paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, mentoring, and continuous professional learning opportunities.

What Youll Bring:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement. Candidates with Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), or MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood), and at least one additional Special Education endorsement are highly desired.
• Experience working with cognitive impairments or resource classroom settings, K-12 preferred.
• Comfortable managing classroom caseloads up to 22 students; actual caseloads may fluctuate.
• Familiarity with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and IDEA federal regulations.
• Ability to discuss challenges facing urban students and families, and knowledge of meaningful resources to support them.
• Official university transcripts must be provided prior to district review.
• Passion for fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments.

What Youll Do:

• Teach in either self-contained or resource special education classrooms, supporting students individual needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to cognitive impairments, learning disabilities, and emotional impairments.
• Collaborate closely with a dedicated special education team, paraprofessionals, and behavioral specialists.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and mentoring with support from the school and academic teams.
• Work onsite, Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week.
