Job Description

An educational opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher dedicated to supporting diverse learners. This role involves providing inclusive special education services to an 8th-grade caseload of 24 students with various disabilities. The position is based in Goshen, IN, with a structured schedule conducive to both student engagement and professional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student within an inclusive classroom setting.
  • Manage and support a caseload of 24 students encompassing all disabilities, ensuring an equitable learning environment.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Participate in IEP meetings; note that a significant portion of the caseloads IEPs has already been conferenced, allowing for focused instructional planning.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in alignment with school and state regulations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students, preferably 8th grade.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively within an inclusive setting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in IEP development and implementation.

Work Hours and Environment:

  • Contract hours approximately from 8:35 AM to 4:10 PM.
  • Student instructional hours from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • Weekly commitment of 37.5 hours within a supportive school environment.
