Job Description

Make a significant difference in the lives of students by supporting their growth and success as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This exciting contract position is based near Gordonsville, VA and serves schools in the Charlottesville area. With two full-time openings available, youll choose between working with 1st-3rd grade students in an Autism support class or collaborating as a 7th grade ELA co-teacher.

Ideal candidates will thrive in a dynamic, supportive educational environment and demonstrate the passion and adaptability needed to foster positive learning outcomes for students with diverse needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Special Education General Curriculum K-12 teaching license
  • Experience in special education settings with elementary and/or middle school students
  • Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and data-driven instruction
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in Autism support or co-teaching ELA environments
