Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Previous experience in a Resource and/or Self-Contained classroom preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring
- Effective communicator and collaborator with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to foster an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students, aligned with IEP goals
- Create engaging lesson plans addressing varied academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement classroom management strategies that support a safe and structured learning environment
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of growth and achievement
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and schoolwide initiatives
- Provide ongoing support and encouragement to help each student succeed both academically and socially
