Job Description

This contract opportunity places you in an engaging, collaborative setting across several locations within 30 minutes of the Glendale, AZ area, working hands-on with students who need your expertise and compassion.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
  • Current K-12 Special Education Certificate
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required
  • Experience supporting students with emotional disabilities or other eligibility areas, specializing in prosocial and self-regulatory skill development
  • Familiarity with the needs of at-risk, ethnically diverse, and English language learner populations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing and implementing individualized education programs and related services compliant with federal, state, and district standards
  • Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training completed, or open to attending professional development sessions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-time, onsite special education support to high school students across multiple district locations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with best practices and guidelines
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Create positive, inclusive classroom environments that foster prosocial and self-regulatory skills
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and promote academic and personal growth
  • Attend staff development and required district training, including CIE sessions in July
