As a Special Education Teacher, you will work in various specialized settings, including self-contained classrooms, structured Autism classrooms, LFI (Learning and Functional Independence) classrooms, and emotional disorder/behavior classrooms. Your expertise and compassion will cultivate an inclusive classroom environment where all students are encouraged to reach their full potential.
Qualifications:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Experience with self-contained, Autism, LFI, or behavior/emotional disorder classrooms preferred
- Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (OT, PT, SLP, administration, families)
- Commitment to individualized education plans (IEPs) and student progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Create a structured, positive, and nurturing classroom environment
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies designed for diverse learners
- Engage in data-driven instruction with ongoing assessment and adaptation
- Partner closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure optimal outcomes
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth for every student
