Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher Self-Contained Classroom
Location: Gilbert, Arizona
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Full School Year
Schedule: 37.5 Hours per Week
School Assignment: 1 Campus
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, school-based position in Arizona. This opportunity is ideal for an educator who is passionate about creating an inclusive learning environment and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Position Details
- Full-time position (37.5 hours per week)
- Start ASAP and continue through the full school year
- One school assignment
- Self-contained classroom serving approximately 59 students
- Anticipated caseload: 3rd through 6th grade
- School serves grades K-8
- Multiple paraprofessionals available to provide classroom support
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
- Foster a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
Arizona Special Education Teacher Requirements
Qualified candidates must meet Arizona state licensure requirements, including one of the following:
- Active Arizona Special Education Mild/Moderate Disabilities K-12 Certificate, or
- Active Arizona Special Education Moderate/Severe Disabilities K-12 Certificate, or
- Eligible for Arizona certification through state reciprocity
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must meet all Arizona Department of Education certification requirements for the applicable Special Education credential, including required examinations or approved alternatives where applicable.
