Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated adaptive setting. This contract role provides the opportunity to work full-time across two schools with a small, focused caseload of 8 students. Youll play an essential part in helping young learners succeed within a supportive educational environment, collaborating closely with your peers and leveraging your specialized expertise.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • North Carolina SPED license (required)
  • Previous experience with elementary-aged students, ideally in adaptive or separate classrooms
  • Proven ability to individualize instruction based on student needs
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff and families
  • Comfortable working full-time and traveling between two school sites

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to a caseload of 8 elementary students in an adaptive separate setting
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students unique strengths and goals
  • Work alongside paraprofessionals or other support staff, as assigned
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring
  • Participate in virtual panel interviews and ongoing training as needed
  • Uphold district and state compliance standards, including completion of any required fingerprinting or onboarding
