What We're Looking For:

  • Valid Kansas Special Education Teacher licensure
  • Experience working in K12 settings preferred
  • Previous work in Kansas schools is a plus, but not required
  • New graduates encouraged to applymentorship available
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate with educators, specialists, and families
  • Familiarity with creating, modifying, and implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Committed to participating actively in IEP meetings and ongoing student progress monitoring

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in a resource room or self-contained environment
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to individual student needs
  • Develop, monitor, and update IEP goals tailored to each student's strengths and challenges
  • Work hand-in-hand with general education teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure cohesive support
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in scheduled IEP meetings
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students are empowered to succeed
