Make a difference in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a part-time contract position. This opportunity offers rewarding experiences each day, working closely with a group of 19 students at a high school near Garden City, MI.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education (State of Michigan requirements preferred)
- Experience working with high school students in a special education setting
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Dedicated, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting individual learning needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff
Key responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instruction and support to students with IEPs, adapting lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans in partnership with IEP teams
- Monitor student progress, complete required documentation, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to foster inclusion and student success
- Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages growth and engagement
