Job Description
Step into an impactful special education role supporting students from early childhood through high school, including Pre-K, Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. This contract position is ideal for educators who excel at adapting instruction for diverse learners and who have experience across various grade bands, including foundational years and advanced secondary levels.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Valid and current teaching certification in Special Education
- Proven experience working with students from Pre-K to 12th grade
- Skill in differentiating instruction for a range of educational needs, including support in math and core subjects
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and tracking student progress
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with a variety of learning needs in inclusive and resource settings, from early learners through high schoolers
- Develop individualized lesson plans and modify curriculum to ensure student engagement and success
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including other educators, administrators, and families, to create supportive learning environments
- Monitor student progress regularly, collecting data to inform instructional decisions and IEP meetings
- Offer both academic and social-emotional support for students, fostering confidence and independence
