Inspire and nurture students across a variety of grade levels as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community. This contract position offers the opportunity to support learners from Pre-K through 12th grade, including specialized instruction in math and general education. Your adaptability and skill will help each student discover their potential and achieve academic success.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- State teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience in classrooms serving diverse learners, from early childhood through high school
- Proficiency adapting curriculum for students with varied abilities
- Strong classroom management and individualized instructional strategies
- Sensitivity to students' social, emotional, and academic needs
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Collaboration with general educators, specialists, and families
What You'll Do:
- Design, adapt, and deliver engaging lessons for students in grades Pre-K12, focusing on individual strengths
- Provide targeted math instruction, as needed, across a wide age range
- Write and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Track and communicate student progress and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom climate that fosters student independence
- Collaborate with staff, support personnel, and families to maximize student growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school-wide initiatives
