An opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained classroom, within a welcoming educational setting near Franklinton. This contracted, full-time role spans the entire 2026-2027 academic year, from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027. Workdays follow a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 7:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 37.5 hours weekly.
Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience teaching middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Demonstrated skill in managing small group instruction and personalized learning plans
- Strong communication abilities for working with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction aligned with students IEP goals and grade-level standards
- Maintain detailed records, documentation, and progress reports for each student
- Collaborate with support staff, general education teachers, and related service providers
- Adapt curriculum content and classroom activities to meet diverse academic and behavioral needs
- Utilize positive behavior supports and interventions to promote student growth
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and IEP meetings
