Step into a rewarding role focused on early childhood special education, supporting young learners in a Pre-K setting during the 2026-2027 academic year. As a contract-based Special Education Teacher, you will play a pivotal role from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027. With a full-time schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm (37.5 hours per week), youll have the meaningful opportunity to work closely with a targeted caseload of 13 preschoolers with mild to moderate needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification, with emphasis on early childhood preferred
- Experience or strong interest in working with pre-K students, specifically those with mild to moderate disabilities
- Current fingerprint clearance required for Pre-K classroom settings
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and support professionals
- Proven ability to adapt instruction and create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction, supporting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each childs strengths and goals
- Use evidence-based strategies to foster independence and developmental progress
- Establish and maintain routine communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff to deliver comprehensive support
- Maintain detailed documentation of student growth, lesson planning, and IEP compliance
