Job Description
Special Education Teachers are needed in Massachusetts to support diverse student populations in multiple classroom settings. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with K-12 students across a range of special education needs. Careful attention to individual student caseloads and collaborative teamwork with educators and families are key components of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Deliver specialized instructional support in inclusive or self-contained classrooms.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining compliance with state education regulations.
- Participate in meetings with parents and educational teams to update and revise IEPs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching License.
- Experience managing caseloads spanning elementary through high school grades.
- Familiarity with a variety of classroom structures, including inclusive and self-contained settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to fostering an engaging, supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs.
