This full-time contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to work with elementary school students, collaborating closely with school staff, families, and specialists to provide individualized education and support.
Key Qualifications:
- Active state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Passion for teaching and supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for elementary students
- Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet the unique learning needs of each student
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other specialists
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and growth
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals
- Participate in parent conferences, team meetings, and professional development
