Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for assigned students
- Deliver tailored instruction based on students unique needs, including academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive support
- Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development sessions, and ongoing professional training
- Track and document student progress in accordance with district and state requirements
- Foster a safe, respectful, and encouraging classroom climate
