Openings are available for one elementary school resource room (grades 4 and 5, 20 students) and one high school special education English Language Arts classroom (pull-out model, co-teaching, 20 students). Each role is located within a single school and classroom for the full school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid Missouri Special Education Teacher certification required
- Experience in resource room and/or co-teaching models is highly desirable
- Strong ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with general education faculty, families, and support staff
- Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom culture that celebrates students differences
- Flexibility and resourcefulness to adapt instruction to varied learning styles and needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and maintain IEPs in collaboration with families and professionals
- Incorporate evidence-based strategies to engage learners and foster growth
- Track student progress, adjust approaches, and provide timely feedback
- Work cooperatively with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education teachers
- Participate actively in parent meetings, staff development, and team initiatives
