In this role, youll be at the forefront of elementary-level special education, supporting a self-contained behavior class with a small group of students and collaborative paraprofessional support. Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Valid North Carolina Special Education Teacher license (NC SPED required)
  • Experience with elementary grade levels; self-contained or behavioral classroom preferred
  • Professional background in managing small student caseloads and collaborating with support staff (paraprofessionals)
  • Strong communication and adaptability skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a self-contained behavior class of 6 elementary students, utilizing positive behavioral interventions
  • Collaborate closely with two paraprofessionals
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain accurate records and promote an inclusive and supportive classroom culture
