Job Description

The assignment is at one school, allowing you to build strong relationships and establish a sense of continuity for your students.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Hold a valid North Carolina SPED teaching license
  • Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-age students in a self-contained setting
  • Skilled in managing behavioral needs and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff
  • Commitment to inclusive education and positive behavioral interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute tailored lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Foster a supportive and safe classroom environment
  • Coordinate with paraprofessionals to maximize student support
  • Track and document progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with families and colleagues
  • Participate in virtual, casual panel interviews as part of the selection process
