Work within a self-contained behavior class with a small group environmentsix students supported by two experienced paraprofessionalscreating an opportunity to deliver individualized instruction and meaningful guidance.
This full-time contract position is perfect for educators passionate about making a difference in early education. You'll have the chance to collaborate with supportive colleagues, benefit from district resources, and help shape the educational experience for students who need it most. The assignment is at one school, allowing you to build strong relationships and establish a sense of continuity for your students.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid North Carolina SPED teaching license
- Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-age students in a self-contained setting
- Skilled in managing behavioral needs and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and other staff
- Commitment to inclusive education and positive behavioral interventions
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute tailored lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student
- Foster a supportive and safe classroom environment
- Coordinate with paraprofessionals to maximize student support
- Track and document progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with families and colleagues
- Participate in virtual, casual panel interviews as part of the selection process
