Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Special Education Certification with appropriate endorsements (Adaptive SPED or General Curriculum SPED)
- For elementary: Adaptive SPED Certification required
- For middle school: SPED General Curriculum Certification required
- Proven experience supporting students with autism and/or significant adaptive needs
- Previous experience in self-contained classroom settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Committed to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and support for students in self-contained classrooms
- Develop and implement specialized curriculum for students with high academic and physical needs
- Craft and update IEPs in collaboration with parents and professional teams
- Use adaptive strategies and materials to enhance student learning and independence
- Maintain regular communication with families and staff
- Manage classroom routines, behaviors, and transitions effectively
- Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Participate in school and district professional development
