Qualifications:

• Active Georgia Special Education Certification with appropriate endorsements (Adaptive SPED or General Curriculum SPED)
• For elementary: Adaptive SPED Certification required
• For middle school: SPED General Curriculum Certification required
• Proven experience supporting students with autism and/or significant adaptive needs
• Previous experience in self-contained classroom settings preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Committed to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and support for students in self-contained classrooms
• Develop and implement specialized curriculum for students with high academic and physical needs
• Craft and update IEPs in collaboration with parents and professional teams
• Use adaptive strategies and materials to enhance student learning and independence
• Maintain regular communication with families and staff
• Manage classroom routines, behaviors, and transitions effectively
• Track student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Participate in school and district professional development
