Job Description

Step into a meaningful role as an Intensive Special Education Teacher, supporting students in grades 36 with profound and multiple disabilities in a substantially separate classroom setting. This contract position begins as soon as possible and runs through June 2026, providing stability and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with students and staff. The classroom serves a small, focused group of 8 students presenting complex medical, physical, and intellectual needs such as seizure disorders, visual impairments, and significant physical challenges.

What Were Looking For:

  • Massachusetts DESE Special Education license (required)
  • Severe Disabilities (PreK8) licensure highly preferred
  • Previous experience teaching students with multiple and severe disabilities
  • Expertise in developing and implementing individualized instruction based on IEP goals
  • Comfort collaborating closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and medical support staff (Para, RBT, CNA, LPN)
  • Strong skills in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP documentation

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering tailored instruction to meet highly individualized student needs
  • Managing a supportive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
  • Coordinating and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support every aspect of students programs
  • Supporting daily living, medical, and safety routines
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with families and team members
